The Christian Network Against Caste Discrimination (CNACD) will host a conference entitled “Caste Discrimination – Where Do We Go From Here?” on Thursday, 16 April 2026 at the Jesuit Centre, 114 Mount Street, London W1K 3AH.
Marking 13 years of CNACD’s work, the conference will bring together faith leaders, campaigners, and policymakers to reflect on progress made in addressing caste discrimination and to explore future action. Key speakers include Meena Varma on Caste in the UK the journey to Legislation, Sr Manju Devarapalli CM on The Current Situation of the Caste System in India and Bishop of Edmonton for the Church of England, Dr Jeremiah Anderson on his personal story and the intersection of caste, race and class. A panel discussion will feature Fr Dominic Robinson SJ, Chair of the Westminster Justice and Peace Commission, Lord Harries of Pentregarth and Dr Elizabeth Joy the Director of Dalit Solidarity Network.
The event will also include Q&A sessions, breakout discussions, and networking opportunities aimed at strengthening collaboration between faith communities and justice organisations on the issue of caste discrimination. Lunch will be provided.
The conference seeks to deepen understanding of caste discrimination as a global justice issue and to encourage renewed commitment to dignity, inclusion, and solidarity with marginalised communities
