The CARJ Annual General Meeting will take place on Saturday 3 November 2018 at St Thomas More Church, 9 Henry Rd, London N4 2LH (11:00 – 4:00). Arrivals and registration from 10:30. The business meeting will start promptly at 11:00, followed by Mass, lunch, and an afternoon session exploring the theme:

Equality and Community – Future Search

The BREXIT Referendum has highlighted some of the serious
divisions in our society. These divisions are set against the threat of terrorism, migration to and from the UK, a widening gap between rich and poor, discrimination, disadvantage and hate crime. In the face of
this complex local and global challenge, we in CARJ are seeking a strategy which offers equality and community to the diverse groups who need support – including:
 – Migrants, refugees, victims of trafficking and EU citizens in the wake of Brexit
 -Young people struggling to achieve their full potential
 – Muslim and Jewish groups who may be victims of Islamophobia and Anti-Semitism
 – All victims of hate crime.
 – Families in de-industrialised areas who feel ‘left behind’
 – Black and minority ethnic groups in the criminal justice system
 – Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities
 – Those who suffer caste discrimination in the UK

Speakers and Inter-active discussion (2:00 – 3:30)

Two speakers will introduce the theme. We will then go into discussion groups and return for an inter-active session which will discuss the theme in relation to our future work.
