CARJ Celebrates Racial Justice Week 9th – 16th Feb
CARJ Celebrates Racial Justice Week starting with an ecumenical Sunday on 9th February.
As part of the celebration Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CTBI), have a range of activities starting February 9, 2025. The theme of this Racial Justice Sunday (RJS), is Coat of Many Colours. They are launching a ground breaking initiative to spotlight and uplift the music of Caribbean and African songwriters in Britain and Irish churches. An innovative digital platform, called SongShare, aims to address long-standing inequities and factors that have a detrimental affect on Black music creators within churches and seeks to offer them greater visibility and opportunities. The Catholic Church celebrates RJS on 16th February the theme is: “Pilgrims of Hope: Our Journey Together Towards Racial Justice”.
The theme invites Catholics across England and Wales to reflect on the collective journey towards racial justice in our schools, parishes and the wider society. Bishop Paul McAleenan said: “2025 is a very special year. It marks both a Year of Jubilee and the 30th anniversary of Racial Justice Sunday. The Social Responsibility Committee of the National Board of Catholic Women invites you to a WEBINAR on Racial Justice: Embracing All – Practical

There will also be a Racial Justice Sunday Mass at 10.00 am at St George’s Cathedral Southwark, with Principal Celebrant Archbishop John Wilson. Bishop Wilson will speak on the theme ‘Love one another as I have loved you’. Refreshments are served after Mass. All welcome.
