CARJ 40th Anniversary Second Event – Sept 21st in Oldham
To register to attend please email info@carj.org.uk
CARJ continues to celebrate 40 years of tackling racial injustice with a second conference, this time in Oldham. We hope to give more people the chance to engage with our recently formed ‘Agenda for change’. The keynote address will be given by Alison Lowe OBE (the Deputy Mayor of West Yorkshire, since May 2021, with responsibility for policing and crime). In July 2022, Alison was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Leeds for her personal commitment to speaking up for the marginalised. Fr. Phil Sumner, a trustee of CARJ, will then unfold, in more detail, the “Agenda for change”. This will lead, after a couple of other short inputs, into an opportunity, in workshops, for people to talk through how this agenda might be used in their own dioceses, parishes, organisations or communities. The day will conclude with Mass at 3.15pm.
