Book Review- How to Fight Racism by Jemar Tisby

Jemar Tisby, How to Fight Racism: Courageous Christianity and the Journey Toward Racial Justice

This thoughtful and informative book is Jemar Tisby’s second published work.  His first book,The Color of Compromise: The Truth about the American Church’s Complicity in Racism, is a factual history of the way the Church in America has dealt, or not dealt, with the poignant issues of race and racism.
Tisby is the co-founder of The Witness: A Black Christian Collective, and he co-hosts the ‘Pass The Mic’ podcast.
Tisby uses a framework called ARC (awareness, relationships, and commitment) to organize clear explanations and examples of practical action steps to take to combat racism. It’s an excellent resource and a great starting point for both personal and organisational transformation in the journey toward racial justice.
There is also a Young Readers Edition (How to Fight Racism Young Reader’s Edition: A Guide to Standing Up for Racial Justice) for ages 8 – 12 years
